It's still in progress, but I have really enjoyed working on it!
This Thursday, for our date night we mixed things up a little and went out with our friends Matt and Nicole for a double date. We ate together at Chilis for dinner, hung out in Evansville for a while, and then spent the evening at our house. We even topped off the evening with yummy cookie bowls and ice cream!
We spread the cookie dough on the back side of the muffin tin!
This was the bowl that turned out the best. I will admit, Nicole was the one that made this one!
Double dating is actually a great way to add variety to date night! In fact, there are many marriage counselors that recommend double dating as a way to bring the two of you closer together. For example, being able to share stories with the other couple about your relationship and your pasts can be a great reminder of what you really love about your husband/wife.
Double dating can also be an inspiration to your relationship. Whether you have been married 5 months like we have, or 50 years, there are always things to be learned from others. Spending time with other married couples can encourage you to work through something you have been dealing with, provide you with a solution to a conflict, or inspire you to try something new! It can also remind you that you are not alone in some of the struggles you may be having. Depending on the couple you are hanging out with, you can either follow their positive example of how they relate to each other, or learn from their mistakes!
So for this week, find another couple that you both enjoy spending time with and double date it!
