Married life

It's great! I love love love being married:) Part of the reason being that God has blessed me with an amazing husband who takes such good care of me. I really do feel blessed.
Time has gone by so fast since the 14th of May. Since then we have already made a lot of adjustments. Everything is so new and just crazy!

We looked at a house for the first time a few weeks ago. We can't afford one yet, but we decided to start looking around. It made me feel so grown up:)

Next Tuesday I'm getting my wisdom teeth taken out. This has been a big issue for us to trust God with because I don't have dental insurance. They have been hurting me for weeks now though and we found a place in Huntingburg that is a lot cheaper. I'm not getting put to sleep though so pray I don't freak out! I'm sure everything will be fine.

Tomorrow is my last day working at OCU until school starts again. It wasn't worth my time to drive all the way there and back making minimum wage. Dr. White offered me a job caring for his elderly mother with Alzheimers so I will start that on Monday.

Other than that just enjoying life with my husband! I love coming home from work and just being able to spend the evening with him, whether it's going to the gym, renting a movie, or even playing blackcops:)
I couldn't be happier. I'm so thankful to Jesus for the life He's blessed me with!

Philemon

I decided to read the book of Philemon today since it is just one chapter. Usually a verse or two pops out at me and I study them further. However, this time I read through the chapter and got nothing. Tonight I decided to glance at it again and here is the verse I found.

Vs. 6: I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.

At first there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary about this verse but the thing that caught my eye was the dependence of the understanding on sharing our faith. From what I understand, the more we share our faith, the more we understand the good things we have in Christ.

As we see God using our lives to change lives, we realize the amazingness of our God.

I haven't been doing a very good job of intentionally living out my faith for Christ. Does everyone get caught up in life and forget what our purpose is? It's so silly to think that there is meaning in this life apart from Christ. Why then do we put so much value into things that eternally don't matter, and can't find time for the things that do? I know I'm guilty of that.

We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise

Sometime God works in ways far different than we plan.

Honeymoon memories

Someone asked me a few days ago how the honeymoon was and what all we did and I realized I'm already starting to forget! Time has flown by the past few weeks. This Saturday we will have been married three very happy weeks:) I know that there are ups and downs in life and right now is a big up. However, I have made the choice to forever be happily married with Jimmy and my vows said no matter what comes our way I promise to love him. I fully intend to keep that vow!

Last night we watched part of the dvd of our wedding. Of course I cried watching our own wedding video! It was great.

Now for the honeymoon recap I promised to write down:

Sunday: We slept in finally for the first time in weeks and took our time driving to Gatlinburg. We had to make a few stops at the house to pack our stuff and also at the church to get some things we left. The drive seemed to take forever even though it was only 6 hourse. We were just exhausted and ready to relax.
The cabin was BEAUTIFUL. It was absolutely perfect. It had a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and screened in porch with a hotub inside and out.

The first night, we stopped and got some dinner on the way and then ended our night snuggled up to a movie in our cabin!

Monday: We went first to the Apple Barn which was one of my favorite places.
We at lunch there and looked around in the cute little shops. The food was amazing and we ended up buying a jar of yummy apple butter:)

Next we headed to Gatlinburg but drove through the smokey mountain scenic route on the way. Jimmy REALLy wanted to see some bears so we were on the lookout. On the way we stopped at the stream that ran beside the road. It was gorgeous! Jimmy took this picture...

The weather was cloudy cold and rainy, but we made it to Gatlinburg and walked around the little shops downtown. We had a fun time looking around and just spending time relaxing together!
Before heading back for the night, we stopped at Walmart to get some breakfast foods and frozen pizza to make in the cabin.

Tuesday: I can't remember exactly what we did on Tuesday. We went fishing in the pond behind the cabin for a little while and just spent the morning chilling (which is exactly what honeymoons are for!

In the evening we went to the Comedy Barn which was our favorite show. It was a lot of fun!
Afterwards we just headed back to the cabin early. This was my favorite night. We just cooked up some pizza and veggies and played Yahtzee by the fire. We discovered that Yahtzee is the one game I can beat Jimmy at....so we will play it very often from now on!  Eventually we fell asleep watching a movie!

Wednesday: We went for lunch at the Old Mill Cafe which had amazing food.
In the afternoon we did a little shopping around, and I finally convinced Jimmy to take one of those old time photos together. Check it out!

Afterwards, we went back to the cabin for a little fishing. That night, we dressed up and went to the Dixie Stampede that night for a dinner and show. It was fun but really expensive!

Thursday: We headed out to Cades Cove for a scenic loop through the mountains. Guess what? We saw 4 bears! We got out of the car and took some pictures of them.
I thought I would be scared of them but I actually thought they were adorable! It was a long drive, but beautiful at the same time. The mountains were an amazing reminder of the great Creator we serve
It took up most of the day, but we had just a little time to go hiking to a waterfall. It was the only day we were there that it didn't rain so we took advantage of it. We hiked out to a waterfall that you could actually walk behind. It was really fun!
By the time we got back from the hike it was getting dark and we were tired out!

Friday: We drove into town to take the ski lift to the top of the mountains. It was a beautiful view!

Before leaving town we ate lunch at the Old Mill Cafe again and then headed back to Indiana! The drive back seemed quicker and we got back early evening!

We were sad for the honeymoon to end but thankful for all the great memories. We were able to spend time together praying and in God's word which really meant a lot to both of us. The best advice we have gotten is to keep seeking Christ together. It really does bring us closer to each other and God.

I am blessed to have such a wonderful husband!
