I can't believe it is already Friday! I guess the week flies by when you are having fun. I hope your week was just as fantastic as mine was. Thank you for taking the time to join me this morning for a cup of coffee, sweet tea, or whatever your preference is.
I look forward to these Friday dates. I love the chance to share with my family, friends, and readers, the great things that God is doing in my life. I also hope that God uses me to encourage you in some way today.
I have been on spring break this week.
I have discovered that spring break is not for the students.
It's for teachers!
No lie-I needed the break!
I started off the week with an amazingly fun trip to Brown County, Indiana just a couple hours away with a few girlfriends.
We stayed at the cutest little ranch hotel and went shopping, hiking, horseback riding, and had a blast together!
Last night, my hubby and I went on our weekly date night! We always have a great time together whether we stay at home and watch a movie or go out and fish at the river. Lately the weather has been so nice, fishing seems to be our first choice.
Last night, we picked up Chinese food, and went out to the Patoka river. We built a fire, had a little picnic, and fished until almost midnight.
Usually Jimmy catches more fish than I do, but last night was a pretty successful night for me!
I caught the second biggest fish I've ever caught!
I was pretty excited about it :)
And now, friends, let me switch gears and go a little deeper.
We were meant for so much more than small talk, especially as sisters in Christ.
This morning while I was having my quiet time with the Lord, I had the christian music station playing in the background and this song played-summing up everything that God has been trying to teach me.
In Your Arms
by Meredith Andrews
I've been too caught up
I've been so stressed out
And all of the noise replaced the whisper
that used to be so clear
So I close every door
and put my face back on the floor
And I'm in your arms
where I belong
There's no other place for me
Than right where you are.
In the busyness of life, I have been getting caught up with all of the things I need to get done. I forget to find my way to my heavenly Father's arms.
Instead I stress myself out.
I get discouraged.
I end up burnt out.
How refreshing to be reminded that we can just let this world go.
We can let our fears go, and hold on to the one who is really in control, even when we think we are.
Are you where you belong?
Have you found your way back to your heavenly Father's arms?
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
