It's Friday!

Hey friends! I am so sorry I left you hanging last week. With finals, teaching, and being sick, my blogging was sort of put to the side. That being said, I am looking forward in the next few weeks to being able to blog more (hopefully) and connect with many new blogging friends!
My countdown to graduation is closer than ever with only 8 days left! And guess parents are coming to help me celebrate! My brother Kevin is graduating as well just a few hours away from me at Cederville University. We have always been best friends, and I couldn't be happier to graduate with him!
(Kevin and I his senior year)

This week, the graduation festivites began with our honor ceremony. I actually won something!
Check it out...

I am getting ready to head out with a bunch of girlfriends from church for a women's conference. It is going to be a great time! I can't wait! Please pray that the Lord will be at work in our hearts....and also that our husbands will find something to eat while we are gone ;)

On that note, here is a little bit of encouragement from God's word. I read this last night, and have been challenged to be even more proactive in the way that I seek the Lord.

2 Peter 1: 3-11
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith, goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ

This passage really stood out to me. I realize that God does the work in our hearts to draw us to himself and to grow us to be more like him. However, notice that we are to make the effort here to be possessing these qualities. God has given us what we need-His power. If we stand idly by and do nothing with that, we are stagnant Christians, and ineffective for the Kingdom of Christ.
Now that is terrifying.

Father, Thank you for those who have joined me this morning just to talk about life, and what You are doing. I pray that You will do a work in our hearts so that we do make an effort to posses these qualities of  faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. We want to be effective and productive for you. Please use us, Father. Use us in our homes, with our families, at work, at church, and even at the grocery store to be effective and productive for you.
May we glorify you-in Jesus name

Don't forget to visit my friends and have a cup of coffee with them this sweet Friday :)
