Hey friends! I'm so glad to be back with you this week for another talk about life! What's going on in your world? As I filled out an application to be a part of BlogHer network, I was asked to categorize my blog.
I picked "life".
I wanted to choose recipes, or crafts, or something more specific, but when it really came down to it, I realized that my blog is about sharing my life-the life that God has given me. The ups, the downs, and all of the in betweens. I hope you have found some sort of encouragement through my life!
I'm going to keep this short and sweet because I'm packing up for some good ole' weekend tent camping at the lake with some friends! Did I mention it's 104 degrees outside? Yeah it's going to be ridiculous...but hopefully fun!
I'm sure that the weather is miserably hot where most of you are, being that it's the middle of July and all, so I have a little poem for you that I came across today as I was reading Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow (I highly recommend this book).
It was spring but it was summer I wanted; the warm days and the great outdoors.
It was summer but it was fall I wanted; the colorful leaves and the cool dry air.
It was fall but it was winter I wanted;
the beautiful snow and the joy of the holiday season.
It was not winter but it was spring I wanted;
the warmth and the blossoming of nature.
I was a child but it was adulthood I wanted;
the freedom and the respect.
I was twenty but it was thirty I wanted;
to be mature and sophisticated.
I was middle-aged but it was twenty I wanted;
the youth and the free spirit.
I was retired but it was middle-age that I wanted;
the presence of mind without limitations.
My life was over but I never got what I wanted.
Makes you think doesn't it? I often find myself with this mentality-always looking forward to the next stage of life and forgetting to pause and enjoy the present moments...even if the present moments are drenched in sweat:)
So, enjoy your weekend whatever you may be doing! And stay cool;)
P.S. Don't forget to visit my friends and have a cup of coffee with them this sweet Friday :)
