37 weeks

37 and a half weeks...so close to the finish line!
You never know, this could be my last update;) Isn't that exciting???
I have our hospital bags packed, thanks to all of your great suggestions last week! I am planning to write about what I decided to pack (if I ever find the time)!

Interesting fact: My Aunt called me this week and was telling me about the Duchess Kate Middleton and her pregnancy. If you keep up with the royal family, you've probably heard about how she was hospitalized for her pregnancy related sickness (ABC news). Well, it turns out, she's been diagnosed with the same thing I have, Hyperemesis Gravidarum. And let me tell you, it is not fun. I hope hers doesn't last the whole pregnancy like mine has!
Fortunately I have been able to keep mine under control with medicine but not everyone is as blessed. Anyone else out there that had to deal with HG during pregnancy?

All that being said, I am spending these last few weeks organizing house, freezing meals, Christmas present wrapping, and adding the final touches to the nursery. I still feel like there's more I should be doing to get ready!

What things are you glad you did to prepare the few weeks before you had your baby, or what do you plan to spend the few weeks before your due date doing?
And here I am at 37 weeks and 3 days!
My best friend Nicole wrote on the board this week. She did a way better job than I usually do! She made it extra special because you never know...it may be the last update before our sweet pea gets here!

How Far Along? 37 and a half weeks! We are full term and ready to go:)

Movement? She gets the hiccups every day and is always moving around after I eat and at night.

Weight Gain: Even though my belly grew, I lost a couple pounds since my last doctors visit. She said that was pretty normal in the last weeks though because I'm burning so many calories just carrying baby! Based on measurements from the ultrasound, my doctor thinks she weighs about 6.5 pounds which is a perfect size:)

Maternity Clothes: We had maternity photos taken over the weekend (which I can't wait for you all to see!) and I finally found a pair of maternity skinny jeans that I could wear my boots with for the pictures! Best part is they were only $14 from Burlington! Oh and make sure you check out the maternity review and giveaway I've got going on right now. You could win a $25 giftcard to Pink Blush Maternity Store! You can find the giveaway here.

Best Moment of my week: I had an ultrasound on Monday and those are always my favorite. We could see that she has a little bit of hair and looks just like her daddy still! It's crazy seeing her little hands and feet and facial features! Soon we will get to see what she looks like in person!
Here's a little shot of her foot that you can make out...so cute!
Photo

Worst moment of my week:  Nausea, especially at night lately.

Sleep: Sleep is starting to be more difficult. I'm having a harder time getting comfortable without feeling like I am squashing poor baby!

Miss Anything: I miss being able to run, paint my toenails, put my shoes on comfortably...silly things like that:)

Cravings: Sweets

Aversions: eggs, peppers, onions, and now garlic...even writing it makes me sick! I wonder if they will sound good after pregnancy?

Gender: Still a girl! I have the doctor check every time to make sure lol. You can read about her gender reveal party here!

Belly Button: My belly button doesn't stick out as much as it used to because it's been stretched pretty far apart. What's left of it is popped out though!

Labor Signs: Doctor says I'm right on track for having her any day! I have daily Braxton Hicks, sometimes regular and sometimes just random. We're just waiting for the real thing now!

Other Symptoms: Sciatic nerve pain, swelling, heartburn, nausea, tiredness, and I've been hungry more lately too which is good!

Mood: Feeling great, and just a little anxious to have everything in order (I guess that's nesting for ya)!

Looking Forward: to meeting my baby! I can't believe it could be any day!

Here's a sneak peak of her room...and if you are wondering how to make the pom poms in the corner, I finally have the tutorial done. Click here for the tute!
Thanks for following along with my pregnancy updates and for your sweet comments! I love reading each and every one of them!

  1. Aww faith I am so sorry you have had to deal with nausea the whole time. I did too but wasn't ever diagnosed with hyperemesis. I asked for meds pretty quickly once I started vomiting up what looked like blood since I'd been vomiting so much. Still about everyday around 4 oclock the nausea would come. I know the feeling...it stinks. I couldn't brush my teeth without puking. TMI? Your food aversions cracked me up cause I had many of the same....somethings tasted good again right away others took awhile...like garlic and onions. I still can't have heavy loads of onions or garlic in things even now! Most will come back though don't you worry!

  3. Hi Faith! I had HG my whole pregnancy and was in and out of the hospital the entire time. It was horrible! I was put on bed rest at 2 months and by the time my sweet son was born I was going bonkers! I'm so sorry that you also have HG. :( But I'm so happy that you have been able to find medicine that helps you! I wasn't that fortunate. But, my baby boys sweet smiles help me forget.

I just wrote a post on HG - if you know anyone else struggling with it, I'm happy to listen or help in any way that I can!

  4. I love her curtains and that pillow! Good luck mama, I know everyone says this but rest as much as you can now. It all changes in a good way but definitely less sleep ;)

  5. Things to do before baby comes:

Get a pedicure, so your toes look cute for labor
Go on a fancy date to a nice restaurant
Gorge on ice cream or some fun treat that you will feel totally guilty once the baby comes and you are trying to lose all the pregnancy went again (my treat of choice was those drumstick ice cream things - yum!!)
    Sleep in

  8. Go on lots of dates! And watch movies- uninterrupted.

Enjoy your time- it will never be the same, but in a good way. :)

  11. I didn't have HG, but I did loose weight in all of my pregnancies. Strange. I'm so glad you're almost to the finish line! How exciting! Have you started "nesting" yet? Each time, when I started to "nest", I popped out the baby within 10 days. Good luck and I hope yout nesting starts soon (if it hasn't already).

  13. What a cute room you have set up for your daughter! I can't wait to see more pictures.
None of my pregnancy aversions stuck around although spicy food doesn't sound as good to me still. I wouldn't say it's an aversion, but I did like spicy foods before I got pregnant. Now . . . it just doesn't sound yummy.

  16. Hey sweet cousin!!! I love reading all your fun posts. How exciting! Precious baby Kayleigh could be here any day!
Her room is absolutely precious! Did you make the curtains and pillows?
I'm trying to think of things I did before Durham was born...cleaned the fridge, organized the closets and kitchen cabinets (with the help of my wonderful mom), washed tons of clothes, and arranged for a maid to come and deep clean our house. What is funny, is that she was scheduled to come a week before my due date, thinking he wouldn't come that early. Well, I was wrong. He wanted to make his appearance earlier than later. :) So she came the day after he was born and we were still in the hospital! It all worked out because we still got to come home to a super clean house!
I'm praying for you and your sweet family of 3!
    love you!

I also scheduled to have my home deep cleaned the week before my due date, thinking I wouldn't deliver early. Well, Durham wanted to make his appearance 10 days early. The good part is, the maid came while we were in the hospital and all 3 of us came home to a super clean home!!

  19. Such an exciting time for you! This last pregnancy I really didn't do much prepare. However, I had two toddlers (now have 3 under 3) so we already had everything we needed. I spent the last weeks of my pregnancy being lazy and dreading picking up my kids from daycare because I had to push the double stroller up a hill (which I did until 41.5 weeks).

  20. I've really enjoyed following your pregnancy along; I can't believe anytime now you will be holding your little girl! I can't wait to hear all about it!

The most important thing I did for preparing is making meals and freezing them (I think I have a post going live about that on Monday)! It is such a life saver. And of course getting all the baby clothes, blankets, diapers, etc.... ready.
