Making Memories

This past week has been Crazy (with a capital C for sure)!
I am finally sitting down with my lap top for a chance to recap after our big move.
Yes we finally did move after 3 months of hard work remodeling the foreclosure we purchased back in May!

I snapped a quick picture of our first home before closing the door for the last time. It was a bittersweet moment. I have been waiting for over a year now to move somewhere else, but through the whole process, God taught me a lot about contentment and "blooming" where He has planted me. I will share more on that some other time:)

SO many memories were made at our little duplex.
It's where Jimmy asked me to be his wife and I said yes. (Read our proposal story here)
It's where we came home from our honeymoon only to find our bedroom tp'd  by my crazy siblings.
It's where we spent our first Christmas.
It's where I went into labor with our first baby and where we brought her home to on Christmas day.
It's really where it all began for us as a couple!

Now we are finally moved! Here we are on moving day with our  boxes piled high!
It's one of the few pictures I found time to snap as everything was a whirlwind.
We are actually not quite finished with the remodel project but our lease on the duplex expired so we had to get out of there.

Our very first morning in the house, I tried to make a nice breakfast and the stove started smoking.
I opted for a pot of coffee and blew a fuse with the coffee pot.
Then the hot water stopped working.
That's how the memories are made people!

Now it's been 3 days and we still don't have a functioning shower or washer/dryer. Oh well!
Good thing you can't smell me through my posts huh?

Sweet Pea has been a little trooper through it all. It's been hard on her with all of the changes but here she is asleep in her new room for the very first time!

And before I head out, I will leave you with just a sneak preview of what the remodel job looks like...
Here is what our spare room looked like when we bought the house...

What it looked like a month ago...
Tada...what it looks like now...without the trim and baseboards:)
Stay tuned for more once I get all this unpacking done...yay!

  1. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest!!

God has been teaching me the same thing sister! I've been so looking forward to having a place of our own. Right now we're renting with Leon's mama and sister. Which is great and saves a ton of money. But I'm really wanting a place to call my own. But I know God has a plan and until then He's teaching me exactly what He's teaching you! I'm looking forward to reading your future posts on the matter. :)

  3. Living in a remodel is not fun, but it's so worth it when it's all finished! We remodeled our master bath and went without a shower for 3 weeks. I had to run over to my parent's house to shower. It was ridiculous. But definitely worth it all when we finished!
