Sweet Pea is 9 months!

Dear sweet pea, you keep me so busy these days I can't keep up with you!
You are now officially our little blonde blue-eyed heart breaker with two teeth and a killer smile:)

Weight: 17 lbs 3 oz (32 %tile)
Height; 26.5 inches (11 %tile)
Looks like there may not be much hope for you in the height department seeing as both your mom and dad are pretty short!

Milestones:
This month has been the sweetest yet as you finally learned to say "mama"! The first time you said it was during dinner and it totally caught me by surprise!
Your vocabulary now consists of mama, dada, numnums (for food), and bye bye

You learned to drink from a sippy cup all by yourself. It's the funniest thing to watch because you tip your head back so violently to get the water!

You also are very good at waving hi and bye at the right times and being so sweet giving mama and dada kisses and blowing kisses to everyone you meet!
That smile gets me every time!

This month you really started walking while holding on to things. You are still so small so it's cute to see you standing on those chubby legs! You have stood a few times on your own without holding on to anything. Crazy!
You also love to dance whenever there's music playing.
You didn't get those moves from either of us! Must be the Cuban in you:)

You also learned how to play peek-a-boo on your own. It's seriously the cutest thing! You put your head down and then pop it up real fast for our reaction.
You aren't very good at hiding...but you're an expert at being adorable!

Sleep: We have had a bit of a set back in this department lately. You were only getting up 1x a night until about a month ago. Now you are up 4-5 times a night. A big part of it is you are getting your two top teeth, but we are also worried you are maybe having night terrors because you wake up with a terrified scream. Poor baby.
As a result, we have both been exhausted! You take a nap at 10 and 2 so I usually try to nap with you at one of those times in order to make it through the day.
I'm hoping this phase does not last long at all!

Eating:
You are a bottomless pit girlfriend!
You primarily feed yourself these days. You do such a good job at it too! I still spoon feed you your cereal and some purees but otherwise I just cut the food up into small pieces and you have at it.

The only down side is that you usually require a bath after every single meal because you rub it in your hair and everywhere! Mess baby!

Memories:
You love swinging..I wish I could take you to the park more often!
Just look at that happy face!

We also took a family vacation to St. Louis while dad was in between jobs for a couple of days.
We went to the big Zoo and saw lots of awesome animals!

You were so tired after the Zoo that you didn't even make it the whole time!

We also went to the Magic Museum that had a special section just for babies!
There was a room full of mirrors...
 A giant lite brite board...
 A baby jungle gym

and your favorite...the water room. I can't help but laugh every time I see your face in this photo. You enjoy life so much!

As summer drew to a close, we took you for one last splash at the water park. And this time dad was able to come along!

Now that it's fall, I am dressing you up in style...boots and all! You are rather fascinated with them:)

Sweet Pea,
You have taught me a lot this past month about what's really important as I learn to place a lot of things aside and enjoy time with you. Your love for life and the joy you get out of the simplest things makes my heart happy. Sometimes I look at you and can't believe that you are mine...that God trusted me with such an amazing little life as you. I cherish each moment because they are going by WAY too quickly! I can't believe how grown up you are sometimes! I am so happy to spend my days helping you learn about life. I love you so very much!
xoxo mama

  7. Oh my goodness..she is too stinkin' cute! I love her headband bows in the last two pictures and her boots are awesome! My daughter first started wearing headbands with bows when she was 9 months and it has been a slippery slope of bow buying since then (I now have a slight obsession). She even asks to wear them now!

Hope the sleeping thing gets better. My daughter slept through the night from 6.5 weeks until 1 year old and then stopped for a few months. It was awful because once you get used to sleeping, it is hard to go back to being up every 2 hours or so. Hopefully it gets better soon!
