Sweet Pea is 5 months old!

Happy 5 months baby girl!

You keep on getting happier every month! We are pretty sure now looking back that you were colicky for those first 6 weeks or so because you have totally changed since then. You are such a happy little thing now and we love it!

Weight: 16 pounds
(I did my best to weigh you on our scale but I'm sure that's not quite accurate)

Milestones:
You have become a very curious little thing these days. You have to look at and grab at everything that I'm doing. I couldn't even get your 5 month photo without you grabbing at the frame!
It's cute though, it looks like you are trying to read the chalkboard!

You officially rolled over from your back to your front this month. Now you do it all the time! I couldn't believe it the first time I left the room with you on your back and came in to find you in a totally different place on your belly! You can roll both ways now so I can't really leave you anywhere! Here's a video of you rolling!

You have also started to scoot yourself around. You can do a complete 180 on your belly! You can also scoot backwards but haven't figured out crawling yet. And that's ok! I don't know how I'm going to get anything done when you start crawling!

You also found your toes to be extremely tasty this month. They are your favorite bath toy for sure...and I think it's pretty cute!

Speaking of bath time, you turn a whole new crazy during bath time. You splash most of the water out of your tub and get this crazy look on your face like you are having the time of your life. I just sit on the edge of the tub and laugh because it's so adorable!

You are also pretty good at sitting up by yourself. You still tip over occasionally but I'm proud of how well you are doing!

You had your first taste of avocado just a couple of days ago. I think we are going to try Baby Led Weaning so we are letting you play around with the food now just to get used to textures and get tastes of it every now and then. It was nice to have you join us for dinner!

Teething:
We are pretty sure there may be some teeth in the works. You have been drooling a river, chewing on everything, have a little runny nose, seem fussier and are up more often at night. Last night you were crying in your sleep and eventually woke up crying about 1:30 and you just seemed like you were in pain. Poor baby! I've been reading up on things to help with teething. Any tips or suggestions from mamas out there?

Sleepy Time:
You are doing awesome at going to sleep these days. I used to have to rock you every time until you fell asleep. Now I just lay you in your crib and you roll over and go to sleep. The past couple of weeks, you've been sleeping on your side. Occasionally you will cry and want your pacifier but for the most part you have learned to put yourself to sleep. It's wonderful!

You still aren't a big fan of the car for some reason. You are always pulling your paci out of your mouth and then getting upset. The other day, this is how I found you when we got home. You had such a cute pouty face and were holding on to your paci with your hand.

Night time is still a little rough. You go to sleep great, but have been waking up 3-5 times a night. In the morning at about 5:30, you are up and don't want to go back to sleep. It's not so fun for me so I'm hoping you grow out of that soon!
I know this sounds creepy, but I love watching you sleep. Every now and then I sneak a kiss while you are sleeping. I can't help it!

Favorite Toys:
You love your stuffed zebra that your great grandma Konrath gave you!

You became a big fan of your jenny jump up this month now that your feet can touch the floor! You love to bounce in it and twirl around squealing at the same time!

You like your Sophie the giraffe now too from your great grandma Jenson. It scares you a little when it squeaks, but you love to play with it and chew on it.

Special Memories:

I have had so much fun with you this month. You are so interactive and you love it when we play with you. You even started to get a kick out of peek-a-boo!

Now that it's spring we LOVE to play outside! I take you outside almost everyday and it's adorable how much you love it!
Here's a picture of you laying in the grass for the first time ever. Of course you tried to taste it haha!

You absolutely love hanging out with your daddy. He took off a few days for our wedding anniversary and we took a little trip together. You went hiking with us and walked all around to little shops. During the hike, you were just talking away at all the trees and plants. It was adorable! Your favorite place to travel was on your dad's shoulders. You were rocking your shades and smiling at everyone who passed by!

You went on your first women's retreat with mom and had a blast. I don't think you cried the entire weekend! There were so many ladies holding you and playing with you...you may have been spoiled.

We also had a lot of fun play dates with cousins! Here's you and Madison who is 3 weeks older than you. You're both pretty adorable. It's fun to watch you interact/grab at each other!

You officially found your screaming voice and for about a week that is all you did. Your daddy and I think it's absolutely adorable...but during church it doesn't work out so well!

One of my favorite memories is our reading time. We are reading through your Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes that your abuela gave you. We read a page or two every day and you seem to enjoy it. You like to look at the pictures or else watch my mouth as I'm reading to you.

And that's month 5 of your life in a nutshell! We love you so much. You make us smile every day with your silly faces, sweet giggles, and your excitement as you discover life. We are so grateful that God chose us to be your parents.  Looking forward to month 6!

Win a coupon book from Datevitation!

I am so excited to tell you a little bit about one of my feature sponsors for this month!
Olga and Alex are a sweet married couple that have started a one-of-a-kind business called Datevitation where you can custom create a date coupon book for your mom, dad, child, or sweetheart!
The Datevitation library contains over 350 date ideas ranging from skydiving to stargazing to steamy adult-only activities. They also have over 100 book cover options perfect for any occasion!

Have you ever seen those flimsy little coupon books with a million dates that may or may not apply to you and your loved one? Well, with Datevitation, you not only can choose what dates you want to add to your coupon book, but you can personalize each one of them with your own little message, inside joke, or love note. Datevitation.com is the web's first online platform to create a custom love coupon book. It's as personalized as it gets!

Here's an example of a date you could use for your sweetheart!

Datevitation gave me the opportunity to make a little coupon book of my own just in time for me and my hubby's 2 year anniversary! I had a lot of fun picking dates that were perfect just for us. The quality of the book was amazing as well. It was perfect.

I loved how the book arrived...check out their adorable packaging!

In addition to being the perfect romantic gift for your sweetie, Datevitation just launched its "boy" and "girl" characters with over 200 new activity illustrations specifically for kids and parents, just in time for Father's Day!

Here's an example of a Father's Day date you could add to your book!

Are you excited to win a chance to create your own date book?

Books normally start at just $20 so it makes for a thoughtful yet economical gift.  If you don't win the giveaway, you can still use the code  ‘LIFEOFFAITH’  for $10 off your purchase in May or June.  That means you can get your loved one a one-of-a-kind gift for Father’s day starting at just $10!  The order cut-off date for guaranteed delivery by Father’s Day is June 6 so make sure to get your order in before then!
