14 Months Old!

Every month goes by faster than the one before and I'm embarrassed to admit that this one totally snuck up on me!
This has been a bittersweet month for me as I've watched you change SO much. My heart wants time to slow down, but I enjoy watching you grow and discover new things as well!
It's hard to believe this is your second Valentines Day. Look how much you've grown!

And here you are on Valentines Day with 2 of your best friends. You and your mischievous little face!
Eating:
Month 14 marked the end of breastfeeding for you. My original goal was 1 year and then I was hoping to make it to 18 months. You had other plans though because over the last few months, you just lost interest. It was a struggle for me to get you to nurse for even a whole minute sometimes. I finally realized that it was just stressing me out and time for it to come to an end. It was a lot harder for me than I thought it would be. I can't keep you my baby forever though, and I'm glad that you weaned yourself so easily. The only problem now is that I can't get you to drink milk. I've tries SO many things, even almond milk and goats milk but you won't have it. Any suggestions rookie mamas?

Sleep:
I love you so much for starting to sleep through the night. It. is. amazing. I started giving you a little oatmeal before bed because it really seemed like you were waking up just because of hunger and sure enough, you didn't wake up till morning! Now we put you to bed every night around 8 and you sleep till 6:30 or 7! It is wonderful! You still take a morning and an afternoon nap as well. You are finally a good sleeper!! Dad gave you this little puppy for Valentines Day and now you won't sleep without it. It's so adorable!

Teething:
Girl, you are a trooper and I am one proud mama. You got 6 teeth in a weeks time this month! You now have 4 molars, 4 top front teeth and 4 bottom front teeth. You are starting to look so grown up now with all those teeth. It's also about time you started using those chompers to eat your vegetables. Just saying! How did we survive all that teething? Well, I gave you Hylands teething tablets and fruit popsicles I had Tylenol on hand in case it got too painful for you, but we never ended up using it. It was a rough week but in the end, we all made it!
Fruit popsicles are definitely our favorite teething pain reliever. Sometimes, I give them to you right before a meal so that your gums are numb and you can eat better!

Milestones:
Another growing up moments was you peeing on the potty! I got a little potty chair for you about a month ago but didn't really intend on using it for a while. You have started telling us when you have messed your diaper though so I've started setting you on your potty chair before bath time and just other random times of the day. A few days ago, you started yelling on your potty chair and sure enough, you peed! I couldn't believe it! I know you being potty trained is still a long way off, but it gave me hope that I won't be changing your diaper forever :)

This month you also started talking like nobody's business. You've probably said 50+ words now! I won't even try to list them off, there's so many. If we say it, you try to repeat it and it's awesome! One of the cutest things you say is "hello" on your phone but it sounds more like "elow". It's hilarious. You have even started to say some phrases. You can say "hi baby", "bye dad", and "all done". When I take pictures, I tell you to say cheese and you always see it and give me a big cheesy grin! My absolute favorite is when we say "I love you" and you say "luff". It gives me a happy ache in my heart every time!

Memories:
This month, my best friend Nicole finally had her little baby boy! You haven't gotten to see him yet but you got to hang out with him for a bit before he was born while Nicole read you your favorite book!

Two of your favorite things are books and animals. Here you are reading a curious George book and making the most adorable little monkey noises!

You are a social butterfly and love to go see your friends. When we tell you we are going to see one of your friends you get so excited you can hardly compose yourself. You start dancing and flinging your arms and squealing! You play so well with the little girl I nanny for too. You guys are stinking cute together!
I put your hair in an official ponytail for the first time. I thought it was ridiculously adorable!

Even though it's been cold outside, our zoo is still open and it has an Amazon building that is nice and toasty warm. Dad got to come with us this time and you had so much fun showing him all the animals!

You are the perfect mix of a mamas girl and a dadas girl. Sometimes you prefer him and sometimes you prefer me. Either way, you have a very special place in both of our hearts and you always will. You bring us more joy than we could have ever imagined!

We absolutely adore you and love your smiles, hugs, kisses, giggles. Sometimes you get laughing so hard that you can hardly breathe. Here's a peek at your awesome belly laugh!

My sweet baby, you have grown up so much just in this past month, and we have made some of the best memories together. I love taking you everywhere with me, even grocery shopping. You're my little sidekick now! We still pray with you each night that you will grow to know and love the Lord. That is the most important thing we want for you! I'm so glad that God gave you to us to care for. I know that you are a special gift from God and I am one happy mama!
