Enough by Kate Conner \ Review and Giveaway

I am so honored to have been given the opportunity to read and review the soon-to-be-released book Enough by my sweet friend Kate Conner! I have had the privilege of getting to know Kate over the past year through her blog as well as a wonderful Facebook group we are both a part of.

Over a year ago, Kate wrote a post titled 10 Things I Want To Tell Teenage Girls that received over 2 million hits in just two weeks. Because of the success of that post, Kate felt inspired to turn it into a much needed book for teenage girls and their parents!.

I feel like it was just yesterday that I was a teenager. I remember the feelings of insignificance, confusion, frustration and wish that I had been given a copy of Kate's book back then. She doesn't just give the same old advice that every girl has heard in regards to modesty, beauty, health, friendships, and boys, but offers truth from a fresh perspective sprinkled with wit and humor resulting in a very entertaining but convicting read, even for me as a mom!
 I loved it.

My favorite chapter was the first, on modesty. "All attention is not equal. It is possible to get a man's attention and never have his respect." The way we dress gives the first impression of who we are! We get to be creative as we represent ourselves to the world, and that should make us think twice about wearing something that gives a misrepresentation!

Although my daughter is not even 2 years old, I fully intend to keep my copy of Enough on the bookshelf for when we hit those teenage years. I hope she loves Kate's perspective on these important issues as much as I did!

If you want to hear Kate talk about her book Enough, view the video clip below. It is so inspiring to see her love and passion for the Lord and her ministry to teenage girls! Enough: 10 Things We Should Tell Teenage Girls is a must have for every parent of a teen girl or anyone involved in a teenage girl's life. Make sure you enter below for a chance to win your very own copy!

  2. I would say one important thing to tell teenage girls is to not fall under peer pressure and if people make you do things you probably should not be doing don't let the mean words they say bother you because in the end you did what the right thing was and stayed true to yourself. I remember when I was younger I hung out with a group of girls that were considered " popular " and they would make fun of the mentally challenged children. I volunteered and worked with the mentally challenged children and I didn't think it was funny. I did not laugh but I also did not say anything. I kept my mouth shut and just let them say mean things. I remember that moment so clearly and I really wish I would have spoken up and said something because what those girls were saying were not nice and did bother me.

  3. I'd tell a teenager girl that she's beautiful and never give up!

  4. I love the idea behind this book and I am THRILLED to be able to read and review it soon too! I love your take on it, Faith! I lead a teens ministry, so this is especially close to my heart. I am constantly telling the girls they are "Fearfully and wonderfully made" with a purpose... and to believe that with all their heart and HONOR it.
