Love what you do

Love what you do.  Last night this was the saying on my Dove chocolate wrapper. Yes, who wouldn't love what their doing while eating chocolate, right? As I read this simple statement, my heart was filled with a happiness knowing that I do genuinely love what I do.

I love being a wife to my husband.
I love being mom to my daughter.
I love being a housewife (yes I said that).
I love my job at AllieRuth Design.
I love being the creator and owner of Daisy Designed.
I love sharing my heart here at Life Of Faith.

I don't love these things because they are perfect, or easy (have you tried mothering a toddler?). My life is far from perfect. Often I'm not even good at being a wife, mom, shop owner, blogger, and employee.

And you should see my house most days.

I love what I do because each of the things I do are gifts, responsibilities entrusted to me by God. He has given me everything I need to do them well and He delights in me as I do them. I can choose to find the joy and beauty in them or choose to be miserable doing them.

I don't know about you, but I prefer being happy and so I choose to love.

I just finished rocking a curly headed tutu wearing little girl to sleep. She still had her suede boots on because it wasn't worth the tears to try to convince her to nap without them. My heart is full. I am thankful for this little reminder of how blessed I am and I hope you take a moment to be thankful for your little blessings as well!

  4. So true. I too love all the roles I fill. At one time I lost my happy so to speak because I become so frustrated with feeling like I wasn't doing any of them well and then I just learned to see the beauty in the imperfections. I think getting past that and accepting that was a huge realization for me. Thanks for sharing.

  5. How sweet! The things we do may not always be easy, but it's easier if we love them!
