Our little guy is 2 months old!

It's hard to believe that 2 months have already gone by since our baby boy was born! I'm wishing that time went just a bit slower so that I could have more time to enjoy him at this baby stage (not that he is even baby sized anymore. He has grown so much!).

Weight: 14 pounds
Height: 22 inches

Milestones
My favorite baby milestone is those smiles. There aren't many things sweeter than a sweet baby face smiling back at you. Our little guy has the best smiles that start out small and sweet and turn into a silent giggle. Every now and then we get a little squeal to accompany the happy face!

He has also started grabbing everything he can reach, which includes my hair, necklaces, clothing and unfortunately big sister's crazy hair makes a fun target as well!

Tummy time has been one of this boy's favorite events and because of that he has mastered rolling over pretty quickly! He uses the weight of his head to roll on his side and then slowly kicks back onto his back! I haven't caught it on video yet, but hope I can soon.

Although he doesn't talk as much as his sister, little guy has found his voice and is using it to coo and baby talk with anyone who will listen! Baby coo's are the sweetest!

Clothing/Diaper Size
Little guy just switched over to size 2 diapers after having several blowouts. This mama ain't got time for that! He is in between 3 month and 6 month clothes which can be a bit frustrating because nothing really fits him just right. It won't be long before his 6 month clothes are a perfect fit, I'm sure!

Health Update:
God has answered SO many prayers regarding little guy's health. We are praising the Lord for him!
In light of all of the prospective diagnosis's, the issues he still has are relatively minor. We did take him to see a specialist this month and they are reviewing the ultrasound on his kidney and will be getting back with us as to whether they want to do further tests to determine what is wrong. The condition of his kidney is not currently affecting his health but just makes him more prone to UTI's and Kidney infections which thankfully we haven't had to deal with yet. Continued prayers are appreciated!

Memories
This month, I have finally braved the adventure of leaving the house alone with 2 kiddos. It's definitely a challenge at times but we have made a lot of good memories!

My first grocery shopping trip with both kids earned me the title of  brave soul from a passerby, but we made it! I carried little guy in my Ergobaby carrier and K rode in the cart like a champ.

We visited a pumpkin farm this month which was quite the adventure. Yes, I was that mom and dressed us in matching clothes. #noshame

Family
He has been a daddy's boy from day one and loves his cuddle time with Jimmy. There have been several nights where I can't get him to sleep or stop fussing and Jimmy just takes over and puts him right to sleep. Go dad!

This little bro has the most adoring big sister who simply cannot and will not leave him alone. ever. It's possible that he gets more kisses a day from her than most babies get in a week. She frequently kisses him until he cries which is hard for her to understand. She is definitely a little mama to him.

This is how most of our days our spent; lots of cuddles, reading books, and making messes around the house! As a new mom of two, I'm learning to let go of perfection and enjoy reality. Reality is messy but beautiful.

Little guy, I am so blessed to be your mama! I can't even count the number of times my eyes have filled with tears and my heart with joy just looking at you and being grateful for your life. I can't get enough of your cuddles and your smile steals my heart every time! I love the light in your eyes when you smile or get excited. I have never seen a baby who kicks and moves around as much as you do. It looks as if you are about to take off running (which I'm sure you will be before I know it). You are so precious to me and I thank God for you every day. Your little life has already touched so many people and I can't wait to see what God does through you as you grow. I love you so much and look forward to watching you grow!

Love, your mama

  2. Aww. The new baby smiles are the best! I'm glad you were able to make it out of the house this month. I remember how much of a chore it was with just one during the baby stage.
