Mommy Moments Link Up 5/27/18

Welcome to the weekly Mommy Moments Link Up! It is a blessing to look back on the past several years with all of our co-hosts, community of moms linking up to encourage and challenge one another. It's worth so much to know that moms have been blessed and maybe felt a little less alone in doing what God has called us. Thank you all for using your writing to be a blessing to me as well as to the hundreds of other mamas who joining each week. I'm thankful for each one of you who have made this link up possible.
It's no secret that motherhood has its seriousness and frustration as well as its joys. That's why we are here. Life is much easier when traveled with! So mamas, let's join together in the spirit of motherhood and share our moments together. We want to hear the happy, sad, tough, terrible, hilarious moments that make being a mother the best job in the world!

The featured post this week belongs to Tehila from Women Abiding and her post "4 Things You Can Do To Make Others Feel Appreciated"  This post was a great reminder that a little bit of encouragement can go a long way. Not only are these great practices for us as moms but also wonderful opportunities to teach our children how to encourage others. Thank you for sharing with us, Tehila!

The Season of Faith

Hey friends! I know it's been a while. The season of life I find myself in has made writing on The Life Of Faith a bit more difficult as I have focused my energy and attention on raising my children, caring for my home and managing my handmade Fashion company, Amana Design. My goal for this year was to slow down and enjoy the life God has blessed me with and sometimes that means letting things go. As much as I love writing and connecting with others through blogging, I'm learning to live Ecclesiastes 3:1, "For everything there is a season...". I still love to pop on here every now and again to share life and encouragement from time to time and I'm so grateful for all of the friends, family and followers who continue to bless me in this little space.

Last year brought a lot of changes for our family including the end of my husband's corporate career to follow the dream God had placed in his heart to start his own Recruiting company. I cannot begin to explain what a step of faith that was for our family. It was scary lose a great salary with benefits and plan to live off something we didn't yet know. Much to my own surprise, God gave us both peace about the decision and our unknown adventure began.

In preparation for the change in our income, I prayerfully re-branded my own shop, began to design and add more items, and ask God for sales. The new name God gave me for my shop through a friend of mine, was Amana and when I look back at last year, the name couldn't be more fitting. Amana means Faith in Hebrew, or more specifically in the verb form it is the action of having faith or trust. The word is also used as our English word "uphold" in the same way that a pillar or a beam supports a house.

I don't take any credit for the success of Amana Design. I'm not a businesswoman. I didn't know a thing about marketing or sales when this all began. But as I stepped out in faith with the talents God has given me in creative design and supported my husband in his career change. God began to bless our family and bless our businesses even when it didn't make sense, and he has continued to provide for us month after month.

I pray that our experience trusting the Lord is an encouragement to anyone who's not sure what the next step for their family, business, or life looks like. In all honestly, I was prepared to be broke and happy, and that may still be in my future! Either way, there is peace in completely relying on the Lord for direction even when it doesn't make sense to anyone around us. Our happiness hasn't come from success, but rather from walking in God's will together. There is more security in that than a steady paycheck with benefits.

Proverbs 16:9- "The heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps."

I still have a passion for writing, and hope to eventually return here more regularly. In the meantime, I would love for you to connect with me and my husband in our business adventures on our social media pages!
